Making a Loan Payment
To repay a loan in full, please visit our
Loan Accounting page and contact the appropriate loan service unit to obtain an official payoff quote before sending a payment.
The commonwealth offers various options to make loan repayment as easy as possible for borrowers. If you participate in the commonwealth’s automated clearing house (ACH) repayment program, loan payments due will be withdrawn from your designated bank account on the first business day of each month. If you wish to make a payment via check, please see the guidelines below to ensure prompt and proper credit to your loan account.
- Include your full loan number on your check
- If you are repaying on multiple loans, indicate the exact amount you wish to apply to each loan number
- All checks received will be applied as regularly scheduled payments, unless you indicate on the check that it should be applied as a principal reduction or loan payoff
- If you wish to split a check between a regularly scheduled payment and a principal reduction, indicate the exact amount you wish to apply as a principal reduction
- Checks should be made payable to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and mailed to the appropriate address, as shown below
