Office of Travel Operations
Every year, about 15,000 people working on behalf of Pennsylvania state government travel in order to conduct state business. The Office of Travel Operations coordinates resources and negotiates favorable rates to ensure the greatest possible return on the state’s travel investment.
The office was formally reorganized under the Office of the Budget in 2011 following several years of cooperative efforts in travel policy and travel management services between the Office of the Budget’s Bureau of Commonwealth Payroll Operations and the PA Office of Administration. The Office of Travel Operations continues to work closely with the PA Office of Administration and the Governor’s Office to set travel policies and procedures, keep commonwealth travelers informed about issues that may affect travel, and provide the resources needed to ensure travelers reach their destinations as quickly and cost-effectively as possible.
