Out-of-State Travel

In accordance with revised mitigation orders and based on the CDC's recommendations regarding travel due to COVID-19, the Governor's Office has issued a revised travel directive (PDF) for all agencies under the Governor’s jurisdiction.  Effective March 2, 2021:

  • all out-of-state travel for official Commonwealth business is authorized to resume if exceptions are logical for daily duties and cost saving purposes;
  • all out-of-state travel for official Commonwealth business is authorized to resume for certifications, licensures, mandatory trainings, or if the Secretary/Agency Head deems travel mission critical and provides required signature.
Agencies must use the Commonwealth Out-of-State Travel Application (COSTA) to request approval from the Governor's Office prior to making any reservations or incurring any costs related to out-of-state travel.


International Travel

In accordance with revised mitigation orders and based on the CDC's recommendations regarding travel due to COVID-19, the Governor's Office has issued a revised travel directive (PDF) for all agencies under the Governor’s jurisdiction.  

  • Per the travel directive issued March 2, 2021, all international travel for official Commonwealth business continues to be prohibited.
